Nokia N900: AT&T/Rogers Announcement Imminent?

It's been a while since the world has been as excited about a Nokia product as they are about N900. The fact that it runs on the Maemo 5OS instead of Nokia's old (lackluster) standby, Symbian, is reason enough alone to be giddy. We know this phone will be hitting the T-Mobile network this October and, if Boy Genius is correct, it'll be hitting the AT&T and Rogers wireless networks in fairly short order.

They have what is (reportedly) an email from a Nokia emplyee to a customer. In the email, the employee seems to confirm a WCDMA comatible version of the N900. Here's the relevant text: "Regarding the network bands, you are correct - we anounced a WCDMA 900/1700/2100 MHz bands. We have not made an annoucements regarding an 850/1900/2100 MHz band device. An announcement will be forthcoming."

'Forthcoming' sound very imminent in that context. Please keep in mind that the realease of 850/1900/2100 MHz band N900s is still totally unconfirmed. This rumor has no independent verification and the email could very well be a fabrication. It's also entirely possbile that a customer service employee at Nokia was just talking out of his ass. If this rumor is valid, we will see an annoucement from Nokia very soon.
